Supraorbital Craniotomy for Olfactory Groove Meningiomas

The supraorbital keyhole approach is used to remove skull base tumors that lie too far to the side or too forward for the endonasal endoscopic approach. A small incision is made in the eyebrow and a keyhole craniotomy is performed to access the tumor. The cosmetic result is excellent since the eyebrow hides the incision. This approach minimizes the brain injury which might occur using a more traditional craniotomy.
